Architecture--no portfolio required

About architecture degrees and licensing to become a professional architect:

from the National Council of Architectural Accrediting Board - https://www.ncarb.org/become-architect

In most states, to become licensed, candidates must earn a professional degree in architecture from one of the more than 100 schools of architecture that have degree programs accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).

However, each state architectural registration board sets its own standards, so graduation from a non-accredited program may meet the educational requirement for licensing in a few states.

There are three degree paths to pursue the NAAB accredited professional degree in architecture:

  • Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.)
  • Master of Architecture: (M. Arch.)
  • Doctor of Architecture: (D. Arch.)
